Treatment Approaches Used:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

CBT focuses on how your thinking patterns impact your feelings and actions. This helps you become more aware of negative, inaccurate, and unhelpful thinking so you can view situations more clearly and respond to them more effectively.

  • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)

TF-CBT is a type of CBT designed to help kids, adolescents, and teens overcome the impact of traumatic effects. This type of treatment involves caregivers. Studies have shown TF-CBT to be more effective in reducing trauma symptoms than other types of therapy.

Ginger is TF-CBT certified and has several years of experience using TF-CBT interventions.

  • Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)

DBT was created to help you overcome intense emotions. DBT focuses on four components: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT encourages people to accept their thoughts rather than fight them or feel guilty for having them. This type of therapy draws heavily on positive psychology and mindfulness, creating flexibility in thinking.

  • Play Therapy

Play therapy is more than simply playing. Kids often have trouble communicating with words - play is their primary language. This type of treatment helps children express their needs and feelings in a way that is accessible for them.

  • Psychodynamic Therapy

Psychodynamic therapy has come a long way since the days of Sigmund Freud. This type of talk therapy is based on the concept that talking through your problems will help you to learn skills to address them.
